Mother's Day

Mother’s Day at Urgent Care

This year, my Mother’s Day started off with zero motherly responsibilities. We were in Lexington for a wedding and stayed the night in a hotel while the kids and dogs were in Cincinnati with my mom.
Ludwig Christmas 2021

The Chaos of the Holidays

You may have noticed that we haven’t been keeping our normal blogging schedule. To be completely honest with you, the last month or so has been a whirlwind. We are going to attempt to catch you up on what’s been happening at the Ludwig house, starting with Thanksgiving through Christmas and into the New Year.
The Farm Days of Summer

The Farm Days of Summer

We’re packing up to head to the family farm for the weekend. We try to go out at least twice a year with our friends to play board games but this time we are going out with Joe's family. Unfortunately, our time with the family farm is growing short. It’s time to hand it over to someone who can use it to its full potential and enjoy it more than a few weekends a year.
Storytime with a Pre-Preschooler

Storytime with a Pre-Preschooler

I’m returning to work full-time next week. It’s bitter-sweet. It means the kids are getting bigger and a bit more independent. But the biggest downside to going back to work full-time is that I won’t be able to spend as much time with them which means no more going to storytime at our local public library anymore.

Happy Hangout – Our New Happy Place

Expectations vs. Reality: A Beach Vacation with Two Small Children

Expectations vs. Reality: A Beach Vacation with Two Small Children

Joe and I have gone on multiple beach vacations since we've been together. Joe’s family would go semi-regularly when he was growing up, my family would go occasionally when we visited my grandpa in Florida over the winter. Joe and his family had gone on beach trips with small children before, mostly his sister when she was young, but I had only been on adult beach trips.
Happy Trails

Happy Trails

Whoo Boy, am I exhausted or what? We’ve decided that we need to get back into hiking and with Mitchell Memorial Forest being so close and kid-friendly (I mean Lilly can hike it by herself) it’s been easier than we thought to get back into the woods. Steven and Hillary have fully embraced going on slower hikes at “toddler pace” and the accountability has been a good motivator to get back out there.
